You need to book parking as it is limited but is expensive at £5 per night. Mix up by staff meant only able to park for 1 night. However there is plenty of street parking. Clean but shower-some mould.
Great views/ good lounge. friendly. Good base.

Bowman's 3 Isle Tour - Mull/Iona/Staffa. Efficient & well organised. About £50 pp. Fantastic day.Fingal's cave!!! The clarity of the water around Iona!! Sea Kayaking in the bay.About £40 pp for a half day - beginners. see International Kayaking School in Oban. Trip over to Kerrera - free ferry from North Pier, good walking & great sea restaurant in marque - need to book. Lots of do-able family walking in the area. Bonawe for example and see priory on the way with lovely gardens. Also sea plane can be booked from Oban to Glasgow and back. Need to book several months ahead - but just brilliant experience. Perhaps a bit expensive... wasted on very young.Lots of nice shops - Chocolate shop! Good places to eat - wide variety. We will go again. Friendly/easy/nice people/non-threatening place to be.We had great weather only one rainy day - but you need to come prepared otherwise it could be miserable!

This is a lovely hotel to stay in, we have stayed in three hotels in Oban over the last couple of years and this has been the best so far.
The view from the lounge is wonderful.

We really needed a break and wanted to do our own thing so from that point of view - We found the staff very friendly but not intrusive, breakfast delicious, loved the sauna, hot tub and massage chair (all free). The lounge was lovely to sit in, lovely views and the other guests were a nice bunch. Would go back again.

Rail link - good.
Local bus - good.
Plenty of choice for eating out.
We will go back when weather is better as ferries were stranded due to bad weather.

The hotel does not have adequate parking and many guests have to leave vehicles in a secluded area behind the cathedral. It would have been helpful to know of this sitaution in advance.
